As the Innovation Director, it’s my role to help businesses innovate, evolve and scale and I look for every opportunity to facilitate just that. Recently I developed and delivered a bespoke, transformative business support programme aimed at addressing a skills gap within our vibrant community: the need for enhanced marketing skills.

We caught up with Bernard, our Innovation Director, a week or so ago and we took ten minutes out to reflect on his first month in the job.
Our T Level student Ava who we introduced to you last year successfully finished her placement with us in June, a real achievement. However, the big news is that she has got a full-time position here within SBIC with our lovely customer Greg Middleton Wealth Management!

Utilising the experience of Oxford Innovation Space, the managing agent, and a dedicated on-site team, SBIC maintains an environment for businesses to collaborate, fostering both innovation and development.
One story, I think it is fair to say, highlights this more than any other, our customer LiCa Scientific Recruitment’s.
We had been on the point of recruiting an apprentice as the COVID pandemic struck, clearly plans had to change and this was put on hold. It was through a relationship with The Trafford College Group, which had been developing over time, that the idea of a T Level student joining us was first suggested.
In case you were wondering, our meeting rooms are once again available for hire…. we have already hosted our first two day meeting for a lovely external customer.
